Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM)

EDDM is a direct mail service from the USPS that lets you send mail to every address in a chosen area—typically addressed to “Current Resident.” It’s a powerful way to get maximum coverage, but because of the cost and setup involved, it’s generally best used as a last resort.

⚠️ Important Note:

EDDM usually requires a minimum investment of around $1,000, so it’s best suited for cases where you have a larger budget and want to saturate a specific area.

🛠️ You can set up EDDM through:

  • A local printer

  • An online printer

  • USPS directly

  • Large retailers like Staples

💡 Many companies offer EDDM services, so don’t hesitate to shop around and compare prices if cost is a concern.

🏪 Why a Local Printer Can Be a Great Choice

Whenever possible, I recommend working with a local print shop:

✅ Easier communication
✅ Support with additional materials like flyers and yard signs
✅ Potential for discounts, especially when they know it’s for a missing pet

💬 A friend of mine who owned a print shop in Budapest used to print 100 flyers for free for anyone searching for their pet. It never hurts to ask—your printer might just be an animal lover too. 🐾
