Slow and steady
Recovering a lost cat is not something that should be rushed. In fact, moving too quickly can often set you back significantly. Taking the time now to follow a calm, strategic approach will greatly increase your chances of success.
In my experience, cats are far more likely to return or allow themselves to be picked up when the owner remains calm and patient. Some cats may eventually come to you on their own. Others may require trapping, which is a more advanced but highly effective method that we’ll cover in detail later.
It’s completely natural to want to act fast—your emotions are running high. But resisting the urge to rush will save you a lot of stress and setbacks in the long run. It’s always better to trap a cat safely than to scare it off by acting too quickly.
Remember: slow, steady, and thoughtful wins this race.
