Yara’s Story

Yara was trapped under a deck for 16 days!

Yara slipped outside one day when the family dog went out, sending her owner, Lisa, into a state of panic.

We immediately began the search, but I also encouraged Lisa to go out during the early morning and late evening hours, simply calling out to Yara in the hopes it might draw her back home.

Day after day passed without a single sighting, and we were growing increasingly concerned. Knowing that two weeks is typically the limit a cat can go without food or water, we anticipated a hungry cat might soon turn up in the neighborhood.

But Yara surprised us.

During one of Lisa’s routine walks, calling out to her missing cat, Yara meowed back. Without hesitation, Lisa sprang into action—tearing up boards from her deck—and found Yara underneath: alive, though understandably thin.

Through it all, Lisa never gave up hope. She stayed consistent, stayed strong, and finally, the one thing that mattered most went right—Yara was found.
